Chairperson of Sri Lanka’s Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) Mrs Kimarli Fernando has stepped down from her position with immediate effect on Today (24) . She said in a not on her Facebook page as per the request from the new Tourism Minister Harin Fernando She has resigned from the post.
Mrs Fernando, a former banker said at her resignation said that in her 30-month tenure she did not get any salary ,allowance, vehicle or foreign trips at public money and she made her own for all things she did on behalf of the development of tourism in her motherland.
Fernando also called out industry veterans who she claims have formed a ‘cartel’ blocking many progressive steps within the industry.
