According to the SAARC Agreement and the provisions of the Bilateral Agreement between Sri Lanka and India, steps have been taken to bring back Underworld figure Kimbula Ela Guna who is currently being held in India and is responsible for a number of crimes, including the attempted assassination of a Sri Lankan President, according to Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana.
He said Kimbula Ela Guna already has a red INTERPOL warrant out for him. The Police Media Spokesman further stated that 129 Red Warrants have been issued through Interpol regarding fugitives for various crimes in Sri Lanka.
According to confirmed reports, most of them are staying in Dubai, India and European countries. Of the 129 fugitives, 40 are on the wanted list for financial crimes in Sri Lanka, the spokesman said.
