Ceylon Petroleum Corpooration announced that the price of a litre of kerosene will be increased by Rs. 253 with effect from midnight yesterday (21).
Accordingly, the new price of a litre of kerosene will be Rs. 340. Kerosine was subsidised and provided consumers at Rs87. With the closure of Sapugaskanda refinery the kerosine production was paused creating a big shortage island wide.However Sapugaskanda refinery resumed it’s functions from last saturday .
