Democratic Party leaders of 57 states have voted for Vice President of the USA Kamala Harris as the successor of Joe Biden Association of State Democratic Committees (ASDC). President Biden announced that he would step down from the candidacy as the nominee.
In a statement on his X handle on Monday night President Joe Biden said “I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.
He further said that he will speak to the nation later this week in more detail about the decision.
“Let me express my deepest gratitude to those who have worked so hard to see me re-elected.
“I am proud that state party chairs, vice chairs, and executive directors across the country are overwhelmingly uniting behind Vice President Kamala Harris,”
State leaders of the Democratic party are on the front lines of winning elections at every level, describing Harris as the most qualified person to succeed Biden. They too believe She would prosecute the case against Donald Trump.
Although Biden closely held the decision to step down he has talked multiple times with Kamala Harris reports say. However, his campaign heads were informed about the decision shortly before he announced his withdrawal.
After Biden endorsed Kamala Harris with his announcement Harris noted
“I will do everything in my power to unite the Democratic Party—and unite our nation—to defeat Donald Trump and his extreme Project 2025 agenda.”
“We have 107 days until election day. Together, we will fight. And together, we will win.”
Kamala’s mother is an Indian who was a cancer researcher and a doctor while her father is a Jamaican person.
