The preliminary investigation report on the Kidney scam and related transplants allegedly conducted by Western Hospital will be submitted to the ministry by the relevant committee within a month

Dr. Gunawardena said that an expert medical team consisting of a Deputy Director General of Health Services has been appointed to conduct a preliminary investigation regarding this incident.
The appointed Deputy Director General of Health Services has visited to the concerned private hospital yesterday (05) and had inquired about the facts. However Lankasara learned that the hospital authorities have denied the incident related to the kidney transplant which is said to have happened in their hospital.
The Director General of Health Services stressed that a comprehensive investigation has been started regarding the incident and for that, they are supposed to visit homes of the relevant patients in order to find facts and get their opinions.
He said that although the information was revealed that there was a testicle trafficking in this hospital, when asked the expert surgeons, they said that no permission has been given for testicle transplants or researches have been done in Sri Lanka.
