Intelligence head Saleh lodges a complaint against Father Cyril Gamini

Director General of the State Intelligence Service Major General Suresh Saleh has lodged a complaint with the CID today (25) requesting an inquiry over a number of malicious allegations made in connection with the Easter Sunday attack in 2019 by Father Cyril Gamini.

The Intellegence head has alleged that Father Cyril Gamini making remarks at recently held prewss conference as Sri Lankan intelligence had provided financial and other necessities to Saharan Hashim, the leader of the National Tawhith Jamaat, which led the Easter terrorist attack.

Father Gamini has added that Major General Saleh, a brigadier at the time, had played an active role in feeding Saharan and his followers.

Rejecting the allegations made by Father Cyril Gamini and others, Major General Saleh has stated that all the allegations made with the intention of discrediting him are completely false.

All of these allegations are aimed not only at misleading the public, but also deliberately tarnishing his reputation and endangering his life as well as the lives of his family members, and such false allegations are irreversible to intelligence agencies as well as intelligence officers who play a vital role in ensuring national security. Mr. Saleh has pointed out that damage is being done.
