So far there is only 1 percent of population is fully vaccinated against the corona epidemic, Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP Dr. Harsha de Silva pointed out. He further said that the first dose has been given to nearly 900,000 people, but both doses have been given to nearly 230,000 people. But the government is still thinking of vaccinating the rest, he said at a media briefing held today (14).

Dr. Harsha de Silva further commented
“600,000 people have not received the second vaccine of Astrazeneca. Many people today are worried. There are different views of the government. The government is acting completely irresponsibly to the increasing risk of Covid pandemic.

Let’s take Brazil for example. An 11-member committee has been appointed to investigate the Covid crisis in the country. When the country was initially told to close, it laughed and said it was not a matter of crying, it was just a fever. Health Minister was removed and appointed a Major General to serve as the Minister of Health. He held a press conference and told me that he would do whatever the President told him. Corona continued to increase. At least they did not reply to the letter sent by Pfizer company who tried to help them. They too did not get the necessary vaccinations. Then the corona control collapsed. Nearly 400,000 people died. Now there is nothing to do. Another person who is a Specialist Doctor has taken over the Minister of Health now. He is trying to find out why the vaccine was delayed, how it was given, why the vaccine was given in the first place, and so on . Similar happening were in our country too. When we urge country to lockdown they asked Why close the country? Then they said it was not like Brazil. It was not science. It was a myth. They threw pots to the rivers and drank “Dhammika pani” .

Unfortunately our country has been vaccinated less than Brazil. People do not know what is going on. The government says do not be afraid
