The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) requests consumers who prepare their meals using electric cookers to prepare their meals before 6 pm in the face of the prevailing power crisis.
The General Manager of the Board MR Ranatunga made this request in a special interview with Neth News.
The General Manager further stated that there will be occasional power outages in various parts of the country for another five days and those who use elelctricity for cooking these days in bsense of cooking gas better to cook their meals before 6 pm. When the demand for is high after 6 pm thereis a possibility for power outages he further added.
The power supply to some parts of the island was disrupted between 6.30 pm and 10.30 pm yesterday as well as yesterday.
The General Manager of the Kelanitissa Power Plant says that this is due to a breakdown in a generator at the plant.
