The All-Party Strugglers Movement (SARWA PAAKSHIKA SARAGALAKARUWO), a group represented in Galle Face peaceful protests has submitted a complaint to the Criminal Investigation Department, asking them to find out how Rohitha Rajapaksa bought a luxary resort situated close to Sinharaja Forest.
The group has pointed out that in it important to find out how Rohitha Rajapaksa spent money to bouy a hotel without doing any job or declared business.
The police recently said last week that four people were arrested on charges of setting fire to a hotel in the Kolonna area said to be owned by former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa’s youngest son Rohitha Rajapaksa.
Referring to that report, the activists from all sides had questioned how Rohitha Rajapaksa, who does not have a proper source of income, can own a hotel.
Rohitha Rajapaksa has confirmed to News 1st that he owns a shared property in the area and that the hotel has been constructed after meeting all legal requirements.
Rohitha Rajapaksa also said that if any mistake has been made, a judicial process can be initiated against it. He also mentioned that people making such accusations should be prepared to face legal action taken by their party against them.
