The Department of Meteorology forecasts intermittent rain in the North, North Central, and Eastern provinces, with afternoon showers expected in the remaining parts of the island. Additionally, scattered showers or thundershowers are anticipated after 1:00 PM.
There is a possibility of more than 75 mm of rain in certain locations in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Western provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts.
The announcement also notes the likelihood of foggy conditions in the morning in select areas of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, and Uva provinces.
Residents are advised to take necessary precautions to mitigate the risks associated with temporary gusty winds and lightning that may accompany thunderstorms.
