Student activist Hashan Jeevantha Gunathilake, who was arrested and detained on a 90-day detention order together with Inter university Student’s Federation convener Wasantha Mudalige was released by the Tangalla Magistrate’s Court today (07) .
The Thangalle Magistrate’s Court has acquitted Hashan Jeevantha Gunathilaka, student activist of th Student Union of Kelaniya university who was arrested under the Prevention of Terrorism Act and interrogated for 50 days on orders of detention for 90 days.
The court has given this order taking into consideration a statement made by the Terrorism Investigation Division that Hashan Jivantha Gunathila, who was detained and interrogated for 50 days, has not found any facts to file charges.
However, Wasantha Mudalige, and Ven. Galvewa Siridhamma, are still being detained and interrogated.
