Half salary concession given to employers to be expired by 30th June

As the general concession given to employers for the payment of salaries to employees of the private sector, businesses, and industries affected by the epidemic expires on the 30th, Commissioner General of Labor Mr.Prabath Chandrakeerthi announced yesterday(20). However, if any employer still affecting, needs further concession Labour Commissioner General stressed that it is essential to get prior approval from Labor Department.

According to the concession given employees were liable to receive minimum of Rs 14500 as a monthly salary or 50% of the monthly salary.
Institutions applying for the concession should apply in writing to the Commissioner-General of Labor 2 weeks before the due date for payment of salary information.

The Commissioner-General of Labor further stated that the monthly salary should be duly paid as per the contract for the employees who have reported to work and are employed and that no other deduction can be made from the earned salary other than the deduction of affiliates and authorized persons.
