Popular singer Sunil Perera, the leader of the Gypsies Band, passed away at a private hospital in Colombo last night. Sunil Perera, who was 68 years old at the time of his death, had recently contracted the Covid virus and stayed at home following hospitalization.
However he was again admitted to the hospital on the 5th following some breathing difficulties and died while being treated in the intensive care unit after his pneumonia worsened. Funeral arrangements will be announced later, family sources said.
