The Frontline Socialist Party (FSP) today (12) filed a complaint with the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) against the Police of their handling of the peaceful protest held by its members earlier this week.

The party noted that its members had followed the necessary health guidelines on the day prior to being manhandled by the Police. It has pointed out that the Police had violated the quarantine regulations and had also assaulted the protestors.

FSP has also accused the government of using the Covid 19 situation and quarantine regulations to suppress opponents. The party has said it would resort to all legal avenues available and take action against those who used force against its members on Tuesday (09).
