Raji Pattison, a former powerful LTTE activist, was injured following a shot by by gunmen in the United States.
The shooting happened as she was traveling in her car from Chicago, USA, and only one bullet pierced the thick glass of the car and hit her in the head.

Pattison is one of the awardees in a Womenn Excellence Awards help in Chicago. She was shot while she was on her way to awards ceremony, sources said.
