Yair Golan, the leader of the centre-left The Democrats party and former deputy chief of the Israel Defense Forces, has said the Israeli government should not be allowed to lead the country “into an endless war” in Lebanon as it has done in Gaza.
“I know Lebanon. I was the commander of the Northern Command. I spent most of my professional years there as a fighter and commander,” he said in a post on X
“And I say clearly: We must exhaust every diplomatic option to the fullest before sending divisions into the Lebanese quagmire,” he added.
Meanwhile, debris from an intercepted **Iran**ian missile fell in several locations in central **Israel**, Israeli media reported.
