Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshabandu Tennakoon has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department in connection with the investigations into the attack on the Galle Face protest.
He had earlier filed a bail application seeking to avoid arrest and be released on conditional bail. However, the application was rejected when he was produced before Fort Magistrate Nilupuli Lankapura today (20).
