The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) today arrested former Finance Ministry Secretary and Senior Advisor to the former Prime Minister, Charitha Ratwatte.
His arrest relates to an inquiry into the 2015 procurement of 50 temporary paddy storage units through the State Commercial Miscellaneous Corporation. Investigators allege that the purchase was unnecessary and resulted in a financial loss exceeding Rs. 90 million.
