Dinasena Rathugamage
Former Bishop of Mannar Rayappu Joseph passed away in Jaffna at around 6.30 am today (01st) . He has passed away while he was at a Catholic Priestly Protection Center in Jaffna.
Rayappu Joseph was at the age of 80 and since he was a religious leader who had done a great service to the people of Mannar. Due to that there is a strong demand from the Christian clergy and the people of Mannar that his body be brought to Mannar and cremated in there. However special discussions are underway to held to take a final decision in this regard.
