The Sri Lanka Navy and Police Narcotics Bureau arrested four persons with a trawler transporting ice drugs this morning (31).Investigations have revealed that the trawler had sailed from the Dikkowita harbor. Officers from the Police Narcotics Bureau had pursued the vessel.
Later, the Navy blocked the passage of the vessel near the Galle harbor and arrested the smugglers and took the trawler to Jakotuwella, Galle. One of the occupants of the trawler escaped. The Navy and the Police Narcotics Bureau are conducting further investigations.
