A female doctor entered the Director’s office of the Colombo National Hospital today and occupied the Director’s seat, claiming that she should be the Director, hospital sources said.
According to sources, the hospital administration had to call the police and security personnel to remove her after considerable effort.
Hospital sources further stated that she forcibly stayed in the Director’s room, insisting that she was “the most suitable person for this chair.”
The acting Director of the Colombo National Hospital also covers duties at the Lady Ridgeway Children’s Hospital, spending his mornings there and arriving at the National Hospital in the afternoon.
Taking advantage of this situation, the female doctor entered the vacant Director’s office.
A hospital spokesperson told Lankasara that the doctor is reportedly facing certain mental health issues, which may have led to this behaviour.
