Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith presided over a Zoom Technical Dialogue on the 23rd to brief Sri Lankans abroad on investigations into the Easter Sunday terrorist attack.

The Director of the State Intelligence Service, Major General Suresh Saleh , lodged a complaint with the CID on the 25th against several statements made by the Father Cyril Gamini.

According to the complaint, Fr. Cyril Gamini had stated that Sri Lankan intelligence had provided financial and other relief to Saharan Hashim, the leader of the National Tawheed Jamaat, who carried out the terrorist attack on Easter Sunday.

The complaint also states that Saleh, who was a brigadier at the time, had played an active role in feeding Saharan Hashim and his followers.

The Director of the State Intelligence Service had stated in his complaint that all these allegations were completely false and that he and the intelligence services had been severely prejudiced by them and that an immediate investigation should be carried out and legal action should be taken.
