A group of 13 Parliamentarians of SLPP and became independent including Dallas Alahapperuma sat in the Opposition in Parliament today.
G.L. Peiris, Nalaka Godahewa, Charitha Herath, Channa Jayasumana, KPS Kumarasiri, Gunapala Rathnasekara, Udayana Kirindigoda, Wasantha Yapa Bandara, Upul Galappaththi, Thilak Rajakaruna and Lalith Ellawala were the other MPs who sat in the Opposition.
SLPP Chairman GL peiris made a special statement claiming that the government was going against the pledges given to the people by the party before they crossed over.
