Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna has decided to initiate a disciplinary inquiry against several strongmen of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) and remove them from their current positions for defying the party’s decision to vote for Ranil Wickremesinghe in the election of the President.
Accordingly, a spokesman for the SLPP told Lankasara that measures are underway against many strongmen, including Professor Peiris and treasurer Dallas Alahapperuma.
Dullas Allahpperuma is to be chargesheeted for joining the Presidential race and criticising the party out of turn. Professor G.L Pieris will also face charges for seconding Dullas Allahpperuma’s nominations.
The spokesman pointed out that the top officials’ Peris and Allahpperuma, could face expulsion from the party.
