Social media is rife with rumours that Dhammika Bandara, the self-proclaimed local healer and creator of the Anti-Covid syrup has also received the Covid 19 jab. Posts on social media depicting a man receiving a vaccination are being shared as that of Dhammika Bandara receiving the vaccine.

Social media post claiming Dhammika Bandara received the Covid vaccine.

Bandara was labelled as a fraudster attempting to make gains through a homemade remedy he claimed could ward off Covid 19. However, no solid proof of the fact has been found about its effect on possibly curing Covid 19 or protecting patients from contracting the virus.

While the post claimed Bandara who made the local syrup has not got vaccinated Lankasara looked into the post and the claim. While the man does look similar to Dhammika Bandara on investigation it was confirmed that the photograph was not that of Bandara but of Minister C.B Ratnayake who became the first Sri Lankan Minister to be vaccinated for Covid 19. Ratnayake receiving the vaccine was widely reported in the media at the time.
