The deputy principal of Karkovalam Vidyalaya in Jaffna was assaulted by a group of individuals, reportedly in retaliation for reprimanding a student for truancy.
After punishing a student for his absence, the deputy principal was brutally attacked in front of the school gate. As a result of the principal’s complaint, three individuals involved in the assault were apprehended by the Pedurutuduwa Police.
Police authorities have indicated that the assailants targeted the deputy principal were relatives of the said student. The investigation is ongoing, and two additional suspects are expected to be arrested. The three suspects currently in custody will be presented before the Pedrotuduwa court.
