The Department of Immigration and Emigration has stated this to the media. This is in response to a question about the special investigation launched to check the dual citizenship of members of Parliament.
The Department of Immigration had requested the Secretary General of Parliament to furnish the names, dates of birth and national identity card numbers of all the MPs representing Parliament.
Following this, the Department of Immigration and Emigration started checking the relevant lists. However, the investigations carried out so far have not revealed the name of any member identified as an MP with dual citizenship, the department said.
