Delta Plus newly found variant that is currently spreading in India has not been reported in Sri Lanka so far, but the expert committee on vaccinations at the Ministry of Health is discussing whether there will be any change in the vaccines currently being given if such a virus enters the country, said Deputy Director General of Health Services, Dr. Hemantha Herath.
Dr. Herath said the talks began with reports that no vaccine currently used worldwide to control the Covid 19 epidemic is resistant to the Delta Plus virus.
Dr. Hemantha Herath, Deputy Director General of Health Services, says that the best and only way to deal with vaccine-resistant viruses is to follow health care guidelines.
