Daisy Forest, a close relative of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, also known as Daisy Aachchi, was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today. She was taken into custody when she appeared before the CID this morning (March 5) to provide a statement.
She was summoned for questioning in connection with the money laundering case involving former President Rajapaksa’s son, Yoshitha Rajapaksa.
Earlier, the police named Yoshitha Rajapaksa and Daisy Forest as suspects in the case filed under the Money Laundering Act before the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court.
Following the recording of her statement, the CID arrested Daisy Forest. She is scheduled to be presented before the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court.
