Central Province Senior IGP Sanjeewa Dharmaratne said that despite a rumor circulating that curfew will be imposed in Kandy due to the Dalada Perahera which commences tomorrow, no definite decision has been reached so far.
It was decided at the second meeting to organize the Kandy Dalada Perahera that all shops in Kandy will be closed at 3 pm on the days of the Dalada Perahera while the city will be cordoned off by 4 pm and that curfew will be imposed by 5 pm.
The decision not to open the procession to the public resulted in the decision to impose curfew. However, Central Province Senior DIG Sanjeewa Dharmaratne said that no such decision has been taken till this morning.
