The amount of fuel issued to the depots will be increased to enable school vehicles, private buses and tourism vehicles to obtain fuel from the Ceylon Transport Board depots and that 45 fuel bowsers will be directed to the fishing harbors daily basis Power and Energy Minister kanchana Wijesekara said.
Addressing the Parliament Minister Wijesekera further said today that although the supply of fuel has been restricted for the past few days, the required stocks of diesel and petrol will be released to the market on a priority basis from tomorrow.
The Minister said that the since daily requirement of 5400 metric tons of diesel was limited to 3200 and the quantity of 3400 metric tons of petrol was limited to 2800 for the past couple of days.
However, the Minister said that 5,000 metric tons of diesel and 3500 petrol will be released to the market from tomorrow.
According to the recommendations of the Ministry of Agriculture, it is planned to give priority to agriculture activities at petrol stations.
