The Crimes OIC of the Colpetty Police has died due to a sudden illness. He had collapsed while exercising at the Galle Face Green when the incident occured this morning (26). The OIC is a 43 year old father of two and a resident of Passara.
According to the Police he had died after being admitted to the hospital. According to Police sources he had taken treatment for a heart ailment and had even gone through a bypass surgery. They believe he may have suffered a heart attack.
The post mortem is to be carried out today to determine the exact cause of death. It is unclear as yet if it is a Covid 19 related death.
