The Ministry of Education has decided to close all schools in Colombo for a week from next Monday. Due to the prevailing
fuel crisis this decision has been made by the Ministry.

Minister of Education Susil Premajayanth and the officials met today to discuss about the school activities during amidst fuel crisis and they have instructed to make due arrangements to enhance online learning during the week.
The Ministry of Education has requested the Public Utilities Commission not to cut off electricity during the day when online education is provided.
Secretary to the Ministry of Education Ranasinghe said that all other schools in the country could be maintained at the discretion of the principals without any transport problems.
