Boralasgamuwa Police reported the mysterious disappearance of Dhulwala Devage Wijesinghe (66), an owner of a hydro power plant and a civil engineer residing at Abhayaratne Mawatha, Boralasgamuwa. Wijesinghe’s cab was found near Narthupana bridge on the Horana Matugama road, and the police discovered a laptop, a travel bag with clothes, slippers, a cap, and a wallet inside.

After contacting a phone number found in the wallet, Wijesinghe’s wife identified the cab and revealed that he mentioned passing by Kesbewa area around 8:30 p.m. on the day of his disappearance. A complaint was filed with the Boralasgamuwa Police, stating that Wijesinghe left his house on Monday (25) to inspect his small-scale hydropower plant in Balangoda.

Questions about the engineer’s disappearance include whether he was kidnapped or if he intentionally created the appearance of suicide. Investigations are ongoing from various angles, with both Anguruwathota Police and Boralasgamuwa Police collaborating on the case.
