The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has recorded statements from the wife and son of IGP Deshabandu Tennakoon, who is evading court.
According to reports, a team of CID officials visited his residence in Hokandara and recorded their statements.
Despite an arrest order issued by the Matara Magistrate’s Court, the CID has been unable to locate the IGP.
A team of CID officers went to his house, but no one was present at the time.
As part of their ongoing search, officers later questioned Tennakoon’s wife and son last Thursday, a CID officer confirmed. Sources revealed that his son is still a schoolboy.
