CID Interviews Finance Ministry Officials in Immunoglobulin Case

The Criminal Investigation Department has conducted interviews with two officials from the Ministry of Finance today (28), relating to the importation of immunoglobulin antibodies valued at nearly one billion rupees into Sri Lanka. The CID obtained court permission from the Maligakanda Magistrate Court for this investigative process.

The officials, a Deputy Director of the Ministry of Finance and the Deputy Director General of the Development Finance Division, provided lengthy statements during the interview, which took place at the Ministry of Finance. The CID team met with Ministry Secretary Mahinda Siriwardena during the process.

This development is part of the ongoing investigation into the immunoglobulin import case, which has led to the detention of the company owner and four senior officials from the Ministry of Health’s medical supply department.
