Chinese fertilizer maker takes a third party lab report – says no pathogens contain

The Chinese Fertilizer Company, which forcibly imported a controversial stock of organic fertilizers containing pathogens, has obtained a certificate from a third party laboratory that these organic fertilizers do not contain any harmful microorganisms. The fertilizer was sampled by a Chinese company called Qingdao Seawin Biotech from China and sent to a German based company called Shutter Glober Inspection and Survey for testing.

The report states that the testing company selected by the company carried out in accordance with SO 4832-2006 international standards and stated that there were no adverse pathogens identified by the Katunayake National Plant Quarantine Service. It is reported that the report has been sent to the officials of the Department of Agriculture and the Ministry of Agriculture by several senior officials of the Chinese Fertilizer Company who are currently in Sri Lanka and they have also given a copy to the leading media institutions.

It is reported that the officials of the Qingdao Seawin Biotech Company as well as the Chinese Embassy in Colombo are making a concerted effort to unload the fertilizer in Sri Lanka on board the Hippo Spirit ship which is currently anchored off the coast of Sri Lanka.
