An explosive device detonated on a car in the Ben Yehuda area of Tel Aviv. Israel authorities are currently investigating the incident.
sources said that the explosion was a drone attack conducted by an Iran-backed Houthi group. One person was killed and seven injured from the explosion which occurred early hours of Friday. The victim who succumbed was an Israel national reports said.
Initial reports indicate the explosion occurred near several embassies and diplomatic sites, including the U.S. Consulate. The extent of the damage to buildings remains unclear. Emergency services, including ambulances and fire trucks, have been dispatched.
Israeli police and security forces are working to clear the area around the explosion site. Israeli sources now suggest that a drone, possibly launched by Hezbollah from southern Lebanon, caused the explosion. There are reports of damage to several nearby residential buildings.
