The Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa today (24) decided to suspend the importation of a limited number of vehicles in view of the current situation in the country, the Prime Minister’s Office announced.
The proposal to import 228 Prado Land Cruiser vehicles was submitted to the Cabinet for approval today.
The Cabinet meeting was also convened today under the patronage of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. The Ministers pointed out to the Cabinet that the importation of vehicles should be further restricted, focusing on the current situation and the financial situation in the country.
Accordingly, steps have been taken to suspend the previous proposal to import a limited number of vehicles as per the decision of the Cabinet.
