The Panadura North Police have launched an investigation into burglary incident involving a two-storey house belonging to a Senior Superintendent of Police, currently stationed in the Polonnaruwa district residing on Panadura Pallimulla Udyana Road.
Reports suggest that the upper floor of the two-storey house was still under construction, and during the break-in, culprits removed a roof plate to gain entry. The thieves has looted various items, including a television set and a brass lamp.
Though a CCTV camera system was installed within the residence, authorities revealed that it remained inactive.
The Panadura division’s crime scene laboratory officers have initiated an investigation into the incident.
Under the guidance of Panadura North Station Police Inspector Sanjeeva Lakmal, a team of Criminal Division Officers, including Crime Division Station Commander Police Inspector Hirantha Thilakaratne, is diligently conducting the investigation.
