According to the schedule, the Sri Lankan athletes were to leave the country last night (29). The Ministry of Sports granted necessary approval and allocated financial provisions for their travel. The Ministry of Sports assigned Sri Lanka sports to make necessary travel arrangements and purchase the tickets for the athletes.

However, the youth were denied the opportunity due to the non-availability of air tickets. They are known to be the best young athletes in Sri Lanka.

These players, their coaches and parents stayed at the stadium gate in Torrington until dawn last night and demanded justice for them.
