Basil Rajapaksa, founder of Sri Lanka Podujana Party has left the United States to arrive Sri Lanka.
He is scheduled to arrive in the island in the next few hours.
Mr. Rajapaksa’s visit to the United States a few weeks ago was also criticized in Sri Lanka.
Some government MPs have stated from time to time that the recent increase in fuel prices could be brought down again after the arrival of Basil Rajapaksa.
Although Basil Rajapaksa does not currently hold any ministerial or parliamentary posts, he is the Presidential Special Representative to the Task Force on Economic Revival and Poverty Alleviation.
