Basil to balance Pohottu MPs in favor for 21st amendment!

Basil Rajapaksa, founder of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna has begun discussions with the PA MPs who have decided to vote in favor of the proposed 21st Amendment to the Constitution party sources said.

According to the sources, the talks are being held over the phone are aimed at defeating the 21st Amendment.

According to the above sources, another objective of Basil Rajapaksa’s discussions is to prevent the division that has arisen in SLPP as to whether to support the 21st Amendment or not and to work out a plan to face the next election together.

However, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa have given their full blessings to Basil Rajapaksa’s initiative and the support of two leading businessmen in the country to make it a success, the sources said.
