A group of government backbenchers yesterday (04) made a special request to the President to take the same decision as taken on sate minister Susil Premajantha on the ministers Udaya Gammanpila, Vasudeva Nanayakkara, Wimal Weerawansa and state minister Nimal Lansa too political sources said.They have also requested from the president to remove the Sri lanka Freedom Party from governing alliance.
They have pointed out that no matter how much relief the government provides in the face of these enormous challenges, those reliefs will not be effective at all due to the devastation inflicted on the minds of the people by those who criticize the government. He also said that no matter how good the government prepares a progressive program, the public will not have faith in it.
According to internal government sources, the President has paid close attention to this issue and Wimal Vasu and Gammanpila, who had taken the lead in criticizing the government from within the government, have gradually backtracked on their expectations of ministerial posts.
