The News Editor of the Aruna newspaper Chaminda Senaratne , complaints that he has received death threats following an article exposing a group of police officers who had amassed irrational assets with drug traffickers as well as persons involved in illicit activities.
He has lodged a complaint with the IGP regarding the death threat made over the phone.
The news editor received these threatening calls on his mobile phone while he was in his office last Friday (18th) afternoon.
The two telephone numbers are 0712293495 and 00916282807305.
The news editor has written to the IGP asking him to investigate the motive behind the threat and to ensure the safety of himself and his family members.
