Arrested activists while in a protest near the Parliament entrance at Polduwa Junction have been produced to the Kaduwela magistrate this evening.
The 12 youth activists including two females were taken to the Maharagama Police Station before they were produced to the courts.
Video footage showed the arrested protesters being transported in a bus under the protection of police officers.
They have informed through social media that a large number of lawyers including high profile professionals are present to appear on behalf of arrested activists.
Meanwhile, a silent protest paying solidarity with arrested youth is progressing in front of the court’s premises.
