The Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court today (09) ordered the remand of former Parliamentarian Sajin Vass Gunawardena until March 24.
The order was issued by Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama after Gunawardena was arrested and produced before the court by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).
He was taken into custody this morning (09) when he arrived at the Commission to give a statement regarding the investigation. The arrest and subsequent remand were made in connection with an investigation into allegations that he had illegally acquired assets worth Rs. 243.8 million.
