Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, the Archbishop of Colombo, met today with the newly elected Pope Leo XIV.
The 69-year-old Robert Prevost has been elected as the 267th Pope in history, taking the name Leo XIV.
Pope Leo XIV, who has spent many years as a missionary, also served as the Archbishop of Peru. Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith was among the cardinals who participated in the conclave to elect the new Pope.
