Appointment of an All-Party Cabinet runs into a snag?

Appointing Cabinet ministers to the All-Party government has run into a snag after more than fifty requests have been received by the President to fill a thirty-member Cabinet.

The suggestion is that the minor political parties that join the all-party government should have a cabinet portfolio each.

Cabinet ministerial positions should be given to those other parties proportionately according to the composition of the MPs of these parties.

The government is seriously considering giving ministerial positions to those who join the all-party government against the decision of the relevant political parties that have declined to join the all-party government.

However, reports said that the government has already informed the respective political parties to immediately send the names of persons who should be appointed as ministers to defuse an impending crisis.

Meanwhile, government sources pointed out that discussions are underway to calm the otherwise tense situation. Following the ensuing discussions, the all-party government is likely within the next few days.
