NPP’s Anura Kumara Dissanayaka swept postal votes of Rajapaksa’s stronghold Hambantota gaining 14483 votes. He received 67.2 percent of the district total.
Based on this result Sajith Premadasa who was a long time MP for Hambantota postal voting is 3397 with a percentage of 15.76%.
Ranil Wickramasinghe got 2.502. 11.61% as a percentage while Mahinda Rajapaksa’s eldest son Namal secured only 819 , 3.8%.
The number of registered postal voters in Hambantota district is 22167. The number of votes used is 31998. 449 of them have been rejected.
